Part Time Delivery Driver
We are looking for someone with an excellent driving record. Ability for bending and lifting up to 60 lbs. All product will need loaded and unloaded by hand, and caution must be taken while delivering to ensure that the flowers arrive in the same condition in which they were loaded.
Our delivery route is typically to Turlock, Modesto, Livermore and Danville. However, we have some periodic deliveries further away and are adding more this season.
This position is part time seasonal with around 15 hours expected per week, but can be combined with Field Crew Member for the right person.
Part time Field Worker
Do you picture your summer spent out in the sunshine surrounded by flowers? Does that vision also involve hours of weeding, cutting buckets of blooms, dirt under your fingernails, sunscreen and sweat?
Dutch Roots Farm is looking for a trustworthy, hard working part-time field worker. This person will report to Mark and assist in all aspects of flower field work. Due to the requirements for harvesting, we are looking for individuals available at least 15 hours per week starting as early as 6:30 to 7 in the morning. If you apply, know that it is a lot of hard work but also a lot of fun.
Duties include weeding, seeding, planting, irrigation, washing buckets, pest and disease control, trellising and especially harvesting.
Team members should be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
This is a very physical role. You will be on your feet and may lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs). We work outdoors in all types of weather (high heat, rain, cold).
Team members are required to follow farm best practices and instructions. We expect everyone to ask for help or guidance as needed.
We prioritize working safely and taking precautions to avoid accidents.
The field worker must provide proper work attire including boots/shoes that will get dirty, sun hat if desired, rain gear if needed etc. Must also be able to lift, bend, and work out in the elements. Since we often get the opportunity to share our love of flowers with customers at farmer’s markets, events and on social media it is important that all employees are friendly, and can learn and communicate about cut flower varieties to positively represent our business.
